The education sector faced a lot of challenges in the past two years. With covid pandemic the education sector was also in a tight spot. In around 2022 the overseas sector picked up its pace as a lot of countries across the globe are willing to welcome International students. The pace will continue and increase at a steady rate in 2023.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, an increasing number of students are choosing to study abroad. In 2022, 1.3 million students chose to study abroad.
Despite the availability of many better studies abroad options, the United Kingdom, the United States, New Zealand, Ireland, Australia, and Canada remain the top choices for many international students.
These destinations are popular due to their excellent education system, educational resources, lifestyle, jobs, and scholarships.
Here are a few education-related trends to look out for in 2023.
Visa processing in Canada and the United States was reduced. Both countries are now eager to welcome international students and have devised a variety of strategies to reduce visa delays.
The United States has increased the number of employees and drop box facilities (boxes for submitting documents) to assist with visa delays. They are interested in student visa processing and have issued 1 lakh student visas to Indian students by 2022.
Canada has also made changes like hiring new employees, digitalizing applications, working towards reducing the wait time and making various other changes to ensure faster visa processing.
According to a presentation at the meeting of the Canadian bureau of the international educational conference, Canada has processed over 7 lakh study permits and is working to increase the number to 1 million by 2026.
Courses related to healthcare, data analytics, computer science, IT, finance and fintech, business and management, hospitality and tourism, and supply chain will witness an increase in favour in 2023 in countries like the US, UK, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, and Ireland.
Specialised education, easy loans, a lot of career options, better job opportunities are some of the reasons why students choose to study abroad.
Smaller towns across India like guntur, mysuru, bhatinda, Vadodara, surat, nagpur, trivandrum, moga are some of the places across India which will see a rise in students going abroad to study.
The ardern government has come up with an enterprising plan to spread its education online and offshore provision for overseas students and increase the quality of on campus options.
Because of New Zealand’s project global pathways, which directs students who prefer to study in their home countries before transitioning to an on-campus programme in New Zealand, there will be an increase in students choosing NZ.
There has been a rise in students opting for studies in Australia compared from the year 2021 to 2022 the momentum will continue for the year 2023 as well.
Australia’s UG, PG, and research courses are popular among Indian students it’s work study permits, student protection laws, and favourable government policies. Australia will remain one of the best study abroad destinations in 2023.
Signing of the free trade agreement between both the governments there will be beneficial trade between the two countries and also increase in the students pursuing studies in Australia.
Uk’s immigration statistics for the year 2022 has shown an 89% percent rise of the Indian students receiving a student visa when compared to previous year.
With the rishi Sunak’s government recognizing the economic and cultural contributions of international students, the United Kingdom will remain one of the top destinations for students to pursue their studies.
