If you have been consistent with your preparation so far or are just starting, this article will provide with valuable insights on how to utilise this last month to the fullest in your quest to ace IIFT 2021.
Tips on How to Prepare for IIFT 2021 in One Month?
Confusion and stress is normal, especially with only 30 days remaining to the D-Day. To have a ground-breaking strategy prepared, it is necessary for the candidates to be well-versed with the syllabus of IIFT 2021. Instead of committing mistakes like revising from the base up during this time, read on to find out our tips on the matter and prepare accordingly:
These tips are explained in detail for maximum understanding and efficient implementation.
It is impossible to stress on the importance of time management, especially when the time in question is as less as 30 days. As per the exam pattern of IIFT 2021, there will be four sections: General Knowledge & Current Affairs; Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning; Quantitative Ability and Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension. Candidates should practise all the four sections on a daily basis for the remaining 1 month. The preparation should be done on the basis of these sections.
For example, if VARC section has a total of 35 questions, then at least 3 hours should be spent on studying this section.
Similarly, if Data interpretation and logical reasoning section has 30 questions, then candidates should devote around 2 hours a day for this section.
Likewise, the Quantitative ability section and General knowledge and Current affairs section will have 30 and 25 marks respectively, then the time allotment of these sections should be 1.5 hours to 1 hour on a daily basis.
Brush up on the basic concepts so as to remove confusion but do not try to study everything by the end of the month. If there is still any topic yet to be studied, it is better to keep it aside. Because the focus should be on your strengths and strong topics only. To emphasise this, keep a hard copy of the syllabus with you and highlight the important topics. As per the marking scheme of IIFT, 1/3 marks will be deducted by NTA for every wrong answer. Hence, it is better to focus only on the topics you believe you can score well.
Giving more and more Mock tests will prove to be indispensable for the purpose of preparation. Apart from helping you gauge your preparation level, it will also help you to understand the actual exam scenario. It will familiarise you with the stress and pressure of taking a seemingly real time-bound exam and enhance your confidence.
As per the experts and previous year toppers, if you are lucky, the questions that appear in the mock test of IIFT could also be asked in the actual exam. It is advisable to give the IIFT Mock Test with as much diligence and care as you would in the actual exam pretty soon.
Practise what you have already covered to become better at it, both in terms of speed and accuracy. Give one hour daily to each section, hence, devoting four hours to practising all the sections. IIFT 2021 exam pattern is almost similar to the other MBA Entrance exams and hence, there preparation can be done simultaneously with almost no trouble. IIFT 2021 will have MCQs only and also, do not forget about time management.
Now, revision and practise are two different things. Revise in four hours whatever you have practised in that time already. In case, you want toppers’ advice, join social media study groups.
One of the best ways to prepare for the exam is to check out the question papers of various years. With the help of the past question papers of IIFT or even sample papers of IIFT, candidates will get a very good idea of the type of questions which are most likely to be asked. Try to allot 2 hours a day, for 15 days, to solving the question papers.

Best thing about Vivek Gupta Sir is his selfless counselling. As I am already a BSC/ MSC, he suggested me to go to Philippines as I was able to get straight admission into MD and this finishes my entire course in 4 years flat. In any other country, it would have taken by 5.5-6 years. Ms Kanimojhi in Chennai office of GKWorks was equally supportive in coordination regarding documents, departure and all other formalities.
We live 100 Km’s away from Varanasi. The internet connection in our town is very weak and my parents are not that educated. For us, understanding the word RTGS was also very difficult. Thanks to Amit Pandey Sir, who is Gkworks Varanasi incharge, he helped us to do all small things. Going with us to get forex to helping us doing RTGS for fee payment, he was always there with us. He only helped us to apply for passport online and went with us to passport office Varanasi. Such support at ground level was provided by GKworks team both in Varanasi and Delhi.
My parents were not very comfortable to send me abroad especially my mother as I am the only son of my parents. I really wanted to become a doctor and thus approached Hemant Mishra Sir, director of Bareilly branch of GKWorks. He went out of his way to convince my mother. He would have come 5 times to my home, invited us to his office and home 10 times before my mother was finally convinced. It is only due to Hemant Sir in Bareilly that I am pursuing my course today. I wish GKworks and especially Bareilly branch all the very best to help many more students for their life dreams.
