THE SUPREME COURT AGREES TO HEAR THE PETITION FOR NEET COUNSELING 

The petitioners also demanded that MCC release the exact number of vacant seats following the end of the AIQ stray vacancy round.

The Supreme Court ruled on Monday to hear a case from medical students seeking an extra round of counseling in the NEET 2021 to fill vacant postgraduate medical seats under the All-India Quota (AIQ).

Justices Aniruddha Bose and M R Shah of the vacation bench ordered that the petition be served on the Medical Counseling Committee, the National Board of Examinations, and the Centre.

To obtain guidance on this matter, the Additional Solicitor General who is Ms. Aishwarya Bhati should receive an additional advance copy of the petition, which was requested by the bench. According to the bench, the petitioner may also serve one refined copy of the petition with the Central Agency.

Recommended from Astha Goel and several others was that MCC holds a special stray counseling round to allow candidates to fight for the unfilled seats remaining following the AIQ stray vacancy round.

The petitioners also demanded that MCC release the precise number of empty seats following the end of the AIQ stray vacancy round.
