According the notification, the statistical figures that have come from the Tamil Nadu NEET counselling reports are that, after the first round of counselling, there are currently three vacant seats for BDS course, for the self-financing colleges in the state. Most recently, about 5,800 medical seats and 1,454 dental seats had been filled, as per reports.
The Directorate of Medical Education also notified that 7,254 seats have been filled so far with the help of state counselling. The candidates were called for filling of these seats by the universities.
Statistics also prove that there were close to 10,000 seats available this year inclusive of both MBBS and BDS. Among this, about 886 seats were allotted for the Central pool quota which the DGHS is yet to cover. About the 1,742 seats were resigned and surrendered and these are to be filled in the second round of counselling which is yet to happen.
The selection committee announced that the list for minority candidates has been released. Only those can participate who have been called for counselling by the minority institutions in the State. This is inclusive of both religious and linguistic minorities. It has also provided a list of nearly 2,000 candidates from government and management merit list who were eligible under the Christian minority quota. Candidates were also listed under the Telugu and Malayalam minority which can be checked on the official website.
If any candidate doesn’t find his/her name in the government and management quota even after applying, can apply for this and redirect with the Tamil Nadu nativity certificate and the relevant minority certificate with application number to scugdocuments@gmail.com. This time restrictions are 5 p.m. on February 18 to get back the status.
