In 1828, the University of Central Lancashire was founded in Preston as the Institution for the Diffusion of Knowledge. Today Central Lancashire is one of the UK’s largest universities with a student and staff community approaching 38,000. Internationally the University has academic partners in all regions of the globe and it is on a world stage that the first class quality of its education was first recognised. RANKING OF UNIVERSITY OF  LANCASHIRE

The Guardian University Guide for 2018 has named the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) as one of the UK’s most improved universities having leaped 20 places to 67th position out of 121 universities. The University’s success in this UK league table has followed the institution’s recent international recognition. UCLan was named in the Best Global Universities Rankings 2017 for the first time in its history, and this followed on from success in the THE World University Rankings, QS World Rankings and the Centre for World University Rankings when it was estimated to amongst the top 3.7% of all worldwide universities.

CAMPUS LOCATION OF UNIVERSITY OF LANCASHIRE

The university is on an urban campus in Preston and others in Burnley, Westlakes in West Cumbria for nuclear and energy related research programmes and a €53 million campus in Cyprus opened in October 2012. The university has students and researchers from over 100 countries and partnerships with 125 international institutions. It has a base in China’s Shenzhen Virtual University Park, conducting collaborative research with some of China’s leading universities into nanotechnology with applications in drug delivery, water purification and fire toxicity.

    We live 100 Km’s away from Varanasi. The internet connection in our town is very weak and my parents are not that educated. For us, understanding the word RTGS was also very difficult.
