The 2018 QS World University Rankings placed the University at number 260 in the world. NUI Galway has climbed 24 places in the QS World University Ranking since 2014. The World University Rankings 2018/19, published by Times Higher Education(THE) places NUI Galway within the 301-350 rank worldwide. This ranking of the world’s top universities is based on 13 separate performance indicators covering all of the core missions of a world class university; teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.

Campus Location of National University of Ireland Galway

Since the University opened the doors of the Quadrangle in 1845, the campus has been constantly evolving to accommodate ever-increasing numbers of students.‌ Today, the main campus has over 90 buildings on 105 hectares of land situated on the banks of the River Corrib. The Centre for Adult Learning and Professional Development is located on the first floor in the Education building (south of the main University campus) beside the Cathedral in Nuns’ Island, Galway city. The office is located just around the corner from the Cathedral car park as you continue into Nuns’ Island (beside the ‘Bish’ school).
