NEET UG UPPER AGE RESTRICTION DETAILS
NEET UG: The NMC, the country’s primary governing agency of medical schools, recently announced that the upper age restriction for sitting mostly in UG medical entry exam, NEET-UG, was being eliminated for all applicants. Previously, the age restriction among general classification applicants being 25 years, while for reserved categories it had been 30 years.
The choice was reached at the 4th NMC conference in Oct of previous year, according to Dr. Pulkesh Kumar, the committee’s Secretariat.
Dr Kumar had requested that the higher age requirement be removed out from NEET UG news bulletin inside a statement here to NTA
“This 4th NMC session determined that…there shall be no specified maximum age restriction while sitting there in NET UG test.” As a result, the informational broadcast might have to be adjusted,” Dr Kumar explained.
Mansukh Mandaviya, the Health minister as well as Family Development, announced on Twitter, “The NMC has decided to eliminate the maximum age restriction for undertaking this same NEET-UG test. The verdict would be extremely beneficial to prospective physicians and therefore will contribute towards the nation’s medical training being strengthened.”
NEET has to be India’s single entrance test of MBBS, BDS, and certain other associated medical programmes. Approximately 15 lakh people take the exam each year.
The exam was performed in Sept of previous year. The schedule and timing regarding NEET 2022 are still to be announced by the NTA.
The examination has also been utilised as admittance to BSc Nurse & BSc Health Professions programmes from 2021.
