NEET PG 2022 Postponed
Since the NEET-UG is now coming to an end with admission processes beginning, the NEET PG sector was all set to kick start. The latest news to come in is that the examinations by close to 8 weeks. This news came after the Health Ministry sent a notice to the government stating the postponement. This order came after the requests from doctors.
This order will also benefit candidates as the counseling and admission procedures are clashing with the same. Also, many medical interns would not be able to participate in the PG counseling because of work-related commitments. With a view of all these hurdles, the health department took the decision to postpone the NEET-PG examination.
On February 4, The Supreme Court heard a plea from medical students about postponing the NEET-PG examination. The exam which was scheduled to be taken on March 12, will now be postponed. Justice D.Y. Chandrachud led the bench for a hearing on this plea. It was filed for the top court authority and it sought to seek postponement on the same. It also keeps in the mind the various requirements, such as completion of the internship period and other formalities which are mandatory for fulfilling. The internship period of many students got delayed due to the third wave and its side effects. This postponement will help them to get back on track and finish all left out duties.
The petitioners who filed the case also stated that covid-duties also served as a barrier to them. This is why the internship period got postponed. They requested more time to prepare for the exam as it would help them to study better. They also filed a plea for an extension of the internship period up to May 31.
For the unversed, NEET PG exam is conducted by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS). Candidates who have graduated from UG are eligible for admission to postgraduate medical courses with merit based NEET scores.

Best thing about Vivek Gupta Sir is his selfless counselling. As I am already a BSC/ MSC, he suggested me to go to Philippines as I was able to get straight admission into MD and this finishes my entire course in 4 years flat. In any other country, it would have taken by 5.5-6 years. Ms Kanimojhi in Chennai office of GKWorks was equally supportive in coordination regarding documents, departure and all other formalities.
We live 100 Km’s away from Varanasi. The internet connection in our town is very weak and my parents are not that educated. For us, understanding the word RTGS was also very difficult. Thanks to Amit Pandey Sir, who is Gkworks Varanasi incharge, he helped us to do all small things. Going with us to get forex to helping us doing RTGS for fee payment, he was always there with us. He only helped us to apply for passport online and went with us to passport office Varanasi. Such support at ground level was provided by GKworks team both in Varanasi and Delhi.
My parents were not very comfortable to send me abroad especially my mother as I am the only son of my parents. I really wanted to become a doctor and thus approached Hemant Mishra Sir, director of Bareilly branch of GKWorks. He went out of his way to convince my mother. He would have come 5 times to my home, invited us to his office and home 10 times before my mother was finally convinced. It is only due to Hemant Sir in Bareilly that I am pursuing my course today. I wish GKworks and especially Bareilly branch all the very best to help many more students for their life dreams.
