NEET PG 2021: Arising Protests on delay of counseling process
The NEET 2021 exam is getting criticized for its delay in further process, from the time of declaration of results itself. Now, as a part of this disagreement, the doctors from Delhi, who are working in various government hospitals also comes with objection on lagging PG counseling process. They state that they will go for stopping down the healthcare sector, if the process is not completed according to what they demand.
As a part of their protest, the doctors were taken into police custody, under the Sarojini Nagar police station. And they were released after some discussions, which even do not assure to fulfill their demands. Dr. Kul Saurabh Kaushik, the secretary of Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FORDA), said that the doctors will go along with their agitation, in Safdarjung, due to the restrictions imposed through night curfew.
The march made by doctors as a part of their protest also caused injury for seven people. The march was held on Monday evening, which resulted in injury of people near ITO. Also, the police has made FIR, under section 188, on the people who took participated in the march. Also the FIR charges them for destroying public property and making nuisance in the duty of police.
In the meantime, FORDA says that the police behaved in harsh manner, and expressed that day as the black day for medical fraternity. They opine that the police was the ruckus maker, in the march which went in a calm and smooth way. Also the protestors says that they will go for more intense agitation, against this action of police, and demands quick decision on releasing the FORDA members, and resident doctors from police custody.
Moreover, the Resident Doctors Association (RDA) in AIIMS has also come up for strike on 29th December. The RDA AIIMS has decided to close all non emergency sectors, if there is no positive reply from the side of the government. They demand immediate action on the police’s barbarous action and apology from the police department for the same. In this demand, they have written a demanding letter to the Union Health Minister, Mansukh Mandaviya, demanding the apology of government, as well as police department. Also, they ask for the report on NEET PG admission 2021, from the officials, which include both competed actions and their future schedules.
The AIIMS RDA has declared for token strike on 29th December, if the government fails to give proper communication within 24 hours after giving the complaint letter. They further addressed that they still believe in government officials, that they will provide enough communication within the time itself, without exaggerating the issue.
In prior to these protests, the Indian Medical Association has also given a letter for PM Narednra Modi, to speed up the process of NEET PG counseling 2021. The exam itself is under many delays, which includes putting the exam back, from January to September, mainly because of the second wave of the COVID 19.
