NEET 2021: MBBS and BDS admission in Himachal Pradesh

 

The Himachal Pradesh University is now planning to conduct counseling for NEET UG 2021 admission, for the state. The University, located in Shimla, will publish the merit list, based on the NEET 2021 score, for admission in MBBS and BDS in Himachal Pradesh.  The counseling is planned to begin as soon as possible, in online mode only. The merit list for MBBS as well as for BDS will be declared by the University, very soon after the counseling. The merit list is the main criteria for MBBS admission under HPU. Along with that, choice of college and course, seat matrix, reservation standard etc. will also be considered before allocation of seats.  

Candidates can apply only for MBBS and BDS in Himachal Pradesh, only if they are eligible in domicile conditions 2021. Only such qualified students will get considered for state quota reservation of seats. 

 

Total number of seats available in Himachal Pradesh
MBBS – 870 seats BDS – 191 seats

 

Domicile criteria

 

85 % of seats are reserved for state quota in MBBS/BDS admission 2021, in the state. In order to get admission in this quota the students must satisfy all the required criteria. The criteria include:

Native Himachali
  • Either students or parent should be a native of the state – and- 
  • They must have passed minimum two exams under any board of education recognized by the state (10th, 11th or 12th)
Himachali bonafide
  • Candidate must submit proof of  bonafide Himachali
  • Studied in Navodaya schools in the state – or – 
  • Passed 10th and 12th under any Navodaya schools in country, as exchange program
Central / state government staff in the state
  • No bonafide for parent/s as Himachali
  • Completed fur year of employment, before 1st  January of the 12th  passing year (two full year  work in the state till date is mandatory)
  • 11th or 12th pass from a recognized school in the state
Parents employed in central / state government
  • Parent/s regular servant in central / state government sector
  • The criteria of schooling will be given excuses, if the parent is working outside the state for minimum three years before the application period.
Himachali bonafide , working outside
  • Parent/s bonafide as Himachali, but working outside the state, in government sector
  • Candidate not eligible for any other state’s quota, 
Ex-servant in Defense/ Paramilitary relaxations
  • Himachali- born parents, and ex- servant in Defense / Paramilitary
  • Relaxation for schooling regulations for the candidate, without any condition

 

Important notes to the candidates:

 

  • Secure NEET UG 2021 cutoff, to participate in the process of counseling
  • Authority conducting counseling – Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla
  • Enter the merit list, for HP MBBS Counseling 2021
  • Report physically within time, in the specified institution after getting allotted for seat in the counseling. Failing of reporting will lead for getting out of the process of admission
