NATA or JEE Main Paper 2 – Which is the better option for B.Arch Admission?
Admission to B.Arch can be accessed through 2 exams namely NATA and JEE Mains paper 2. Qualifying anyone of these 2 exams enables a person to take admission in a B.Arch course. The difference between these 2 exams is because of the different colleges that take admission through either exam. So a student can choose an exam depending on their choice of college. The Council of Architecture (CoA) directs National Architecture Aptitude Test or NATA. Whereas JEE Mains paper 2 is directed by National Testing Agency(NTA). Through NATA one can apply for colleges like SPA Delhi and CEPT University Ahmedabad while through JEE Mains paper 2 one can apply for colleges like NITs and GFTIs. Both the exams have the same pattern and aim but slightly different eligibility criteria. Let’s learn in-depth about these exams and their differences.
Comparative Analysis – NATA or JEE Main Paper 2?
The above mentioned both the exams are conducted for admission in the B.Arch course. Different colleges have different preferences for the entrance exam among these 2 exams. Some criteria of these exams are the same with their same level of difficulty while they have different eligibility criteria. NATA analyses the ability of a student for taking up Architecture. While JEE Mains paper 2 analyzes the maths ability and drawing ability of a student, the critical thinking skill of students.

Comparison by Difficulty Level
The number of students participating in NATA and JEE Mains paper 2 varies by a huge number. The level of difficulty of JEE Mains is higher than NATA as JEE is one of the international level exams. NATA tests the drawing and ability of students to pursue Architecture.
NATA Qualifying Marks
Minimum criteria for qualifying NATA has been set by the Council of Architecture (CoA). MArks for individual subjects are been decided. The overall cutoff for the exam is decided by the authorities after cutoff marks are declared.

Admission to B.Arch in Indian Institute of Technologies (IIT’s)
Two main IITs of India namely the IIT Kharagpur and IIT Roorkee offer the Bachelor of Architecture course. Admission to these colleges can be gained through JEE Advanced Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT). But before this exam, they need to qualify for the JEE Main Paper I and JEE Advanced. The question paper includes the questions from the aptitude of architecture related to the monument and a drawing test. It is important to apply the respective IIT. And the result will be declared on their respective website.
