Medical Education opportunities in Bangladesh

Bangladesh is a South Asian country lying between the India and Bay Of Bengal Sea. Majority if the land border of Bangladesh is covered by the eastern and north eastern parts of India. Muslims are the majority of population in Bangladesh. Along with that, there are Hindus, Buddhists as well as Christians. Bengali and English are the languages used to speak in the country. Bangladesh shows its roots of origin in ancient India and then in Pakistan. The country has Parliamentary democratic system of governance with a unitary parliament. The country has six administrative units. They are: Dhaka, Chittagong, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barisal, and Sylhet. The country itself shares a very common cultural, economic, social and historical links with India.

Bangladesh offers many opportunities for MBBS aspirants. Various studies show that MBBS education in Bangladesh is very expeditious. Even though there are many reasons for studying in Bangladesh, reservation for foreign students and tuition fees stands top for choosing colleges of  Bangladesh as an option for MBBS.

Bangladesh offers reservation of 75 seats in every medical college for Non- Bangladeshi students. In addition to this, colleges run by private authorities allow to secure about 45 percent of student strength for international students.

• The Diabetic Association Medical College, Faridpur :

The medical college is an institution run by board of people as authority. It was set up under Faridpur Diabetic Association. The college started its functioning from 15th November 2009. The first batch of students of the college was in the academic year of 2009-2010. Faridpur Diabetic Association has membership in International Diabetes Federation, from 2009.

The college is recognized by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council. It is also approved by Bangladesh Health & family Welfare ministry board. The college is attached under the University of Dhaka, and thus follows course under the syllabus set up by the university.  The hospital, which teaches the courses, was set up in 1985, with service in all branches of Medical Science.

• Marine City Medical College, Chittagong :

MCMC is a private medical college which provides opportunity to study and to do research in medical sciences. The college offer education with high quality in fair cost.  The college was opened in 2013, under the Medical University of Chittagong. The college is recognized by Health and Family Welfare ministry.  The college offer excellent faculty with good experience and knowledge.

• Islamic Bank Medical College, Rajshahi :

This college is situated near to the Airport of Rajshahi. Besides that, it stands as the earliest private college in Rajshahi. The college provides facilities like Hostel, Hospital and, a campus with greenery.

• Sylhet Women’s Medical College, Sylhet :

The college stands top in the list of private colleges made for women to pursue medicine. This college is located near the Sylhet International Airport. Working under the medical University of Sylhet, the college offers various facilities like hostel, library and good patient flow, for its students.

• International Medical College, Gazipur :

This is a college situated near the Dhaka International Airports. Attached to the University of Dhaka, the college stands top in the list of popular medical colleges in Dhaka as well as in the country.

• Medical College for Women and Hospital :

This is a private college set up absolutely for women. The college gives facilities like Hostel with AC and moderate cost. The college also allows for paying fees in installment mode, within the duration of 5 years. The college has campus in two places – Uttara model town and in Dhaka (in sector-1 and in Uttarakhand).

• BGC Trust Medical College, Bangladesh :

The college was set up in 2002, under the Chattagram University. The college is popular up to international level, for good academic service and medical aid provided. The college holds recognition from Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council as well as that of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
