MBBS is an abbreviated form for Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery. This course enables a person to become an expert in various domains, surgeons, medical assistants in critical care units. Been one of the most popular courses in the world has its own advantages and disadvantages. The qualification criterion for NEET and the exam pattern makes it difficult for the students to qualify the exam and be enlisted in the merit list. In spite of the tough exam pattern almost 50% of the appearing students population are able to qualify the exam. Among these qualified population only fewer students are able to secure a medical seat because of the scarcity of the colleges in India. In Jharkhand there are total of 6 government medical colleges in the state. All the 6 colleges are under the administration of government.
Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB) is the authority responsible for conducting Jharkhand NEET admission. The authorities will release the application form for Jharkhand MBBS admission in the fourth week of June in online mode. Candidates who fulfil the eligibility criteria of Jharkhand NEET admission will have to fill the application form within stipulated time. On the basis of scores obtained in NEET , timely filing of application form and fulfilment of other factors, authorities prepare merit list. Jharkhand MBBS 2020 merit list will be released in the first week of July, in the form of PDF. Candidates whose names are included in the same will be eligible for counselling of Jharkhand MBBS.
There are 6 government colleges under many universities of Jharkhand, which are Kolhan University, Vinoba Bhave University, Ranchi University, Sidho Kanhu Murmu University and Nilamber Pitamber University.
Kolhan University is a public university affiliated to UGC, having 14 Constituent Colleges and 12 Affiliated Colleges offering variety of courses. Vinoba Bhave University maintains 25 postgraduate and undergraduate constituent colleges with many courses and many affiliated colleges under it. Ranchi University is a public teaching-cum-affiliating university and Sidho Kanhu Murmu university is a public university at Dumka, the second capital of Jharkhand. Nilamber Pitamber University is the largest state university that operates all colleges in Palamu district as well as other nearby districts.

Eligibility criteria for MBBS in Jharkhand
The age of the applicant should be more than 17-years.
State Domicile Rules for getting 85% state quota seats in Jharkhand:
Only permanent or local residents of the Jharkhand state can apply for Jharkhand MBBS and BDS Admission. Domicile holders of Jharkhand and those who have passed 10+2 from Jharkhand Board are also eligible to apply under 85% state quota during Jharkhand MBBS and BDS admissions.
Each state employs the domicile rule. This rule allows the qualified authority to authenticate students depending on their native state. A domicile certificate is a verification of a stable dwelling conferred to a person by the state administration. This certificate is essential in taking the benefits of been native to a certain state. In Jharkhand, the certificate is granted to the person who is a permanent resident of the state or who has been living in the state for more than 5-years. The certificate can be obtained from the Tehsildar and Circle Department. The certificate can be authorized via online or offline mode. Miscellaneous certificates that can be asked during certificate generation are Adhar/Pan card, passport photo, address proof (such as utility bills), etc. For the online authorization of certificates, people can use the official website of their states. The remaining 15% of the quota is reserved for international students or students who attend through the quota management policy.
All the admission process after the declaration of NEET result is carried by the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB). There are only government colleges in Jharkhand that are run by the Indian government. The total amount of seats offered amounts to 600 from 6 medical schools in Jharkhand. After the declaration of results, the board prepares a merit list. Students who are able to secure a place on this merit list are notified of the further counseling process. On the day of counseling, students are allocated seats as per their marks in NEET. After the assignment of seats, there is a process of document verification. This step marks the end of the counseling procedure.
