Studying MBBS is an ambition for many students. For fulfilling this ambition it is mandatory to clear the NEET examination. The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts an entrance exam the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. By qualifying NEET a student can apply for admission to any medical college. There are a total of 555 medical colleges in India and these colleges amount to a total of 83175 medical seats. Among these in Delhi, there is a total of 10 medical colleges. Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on behalf of Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is the responsible authority in charge of carrying out admission processes to DU MBBS/BDS 2020 to the colleges affiliated to University of Delhi (DU). For DU MBBS/BDS 2020 admissions, the aspirants need to qualify National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Undergraduate – NEET UG entrance exam as mentioned. All the colleges are either government, or run by society or by a trust. There are none that come under private management.
Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University and Delhi University are the prominent universities in Delhi, that most of the colleges are affiliated to.
Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, formerly Indraprastha University, is a public state university, established as a teaching cum affiliating university. Delhi University is a collegiate public central university. University of Jamia Hamdard (Hamdard University) is another government funded institute of higher education deemed to be university.
The statistics can be summarized as:
1222 MBBS seats in 8 government colleges, including 107 Medical seats of AIIMS, 100 seats in a trust run medical college ( Army college of medical Sciences fee like government but 100% seats reserved for Army personal), 100 seats in 1 deemed university where most seats are reserved for muslim minority
How to Apply:
Delhi University being a central university, 3 colleges falling under DU are all covered by central counselling done by MCC. So there is no need to fill separate form for its counselling seats. Similarly, VMC is also covered by this centralized counselling . Though the college is under IPU, it is located in a central government hospital.
For Rest 3 colleges in IPU , Students need to fill IPU form for IPU central counselling.

Domicile Rules for getting 85% State quota seats:
For students to avail the 85% State quota seats, they should’ve completed their 12th class from any school situated in Delhi NCR, affiliated to boards, CBSE, ICSE or JMI. The candidates are required to submit the Domicile certificate during the admission process.
