Sikar is indeed emerging as a new coaching hub in Rajasthan, attracting students primarily from within the state and nearby rural areas. Institutions like CLC, Allen, Matrix, PCP Academy, and Prince Eduhub have established themselves in Sikar, offering coaching for competitive exams like IIT-JEE and NEET.
One of the key differences between Sikar and Kota is the student environment. Sikar’s coaching centers often integrate study and living facilities, creating a more controlled and supportive environment. This has led to fewer reported stress-related issues compared to Kota. However, there are concerns that as Sikar grows, it may face similar challenges to Kota, including increased student stress and mental health issues
Sikar is emerging as a prominent coaching hub in Rajasthan, drawing comparisons to Kota, which has long been the leading destination for students preparing for competitive exams such as IIT-JEE and NEET. Here are some key points about Sikar’s rise as a coaching hub:
Growth and Popularity
Increasing Student Numbers: Sikar has seen a significant influx of students, particularly from rural areas of Rajasthan and neighboring states like Haryana. Estimates suggest that Sikar is now home to around one lakh students preparing for various competitive exams
Reputed Institutions: Several well-known coaching institutes have set up branches in Sikar, including CLC, Allen, Matrix, PCP Academy, and Prince Eduhub. These institutes offer comprehensive coaching programs and boast impressive success rates in competitive exams
Educational Environment
Integrated Study and Living Facilities: Unlike Kota, where students often face issues related to overcrowding and lack of supervision, Sikar’s coaching institutes typically provide integrated facilities. These include hostels under the supervision of the institutes, which helps in creating a more structured and supportive environment for students
Focus on Local Students: Sikar’s student body mainly comprises students from local and rural backgrounds, which contributes to a more cohesive and less stressful study environment compared to Kota’s diverse and highly competitive atmosphere
Challenges and Concerns
Mental Health Issues: Despite the seemingly supportive environment, there are concerns about rising mental health issues among students in Sikar. Some reports indicate that while Sikar appears to have fewer stress-related incidents on the surface, issues like student suicides are present but not widely reported
Potential Overcrowding: As Sikar continues to attract more students, there are fears that it might face similar challenges to Kota, including overcrowding and the pressure to constantly achieve high academic performance. This could lead to an increase in stress and mental health problems among students in the future
Quality of Education
High Success Rates: Institutes in Sikar have demonstrated high success rates in various competitive exams. For instance, Prince Eduhub has garnered national recognition for its academic excellence and comprehensive coaching programs, which include preparation for exams like IIT-JEE, NEET, NDA, and others.
Personalized Attention: Initially, the smaller number of students in Sikar allowed for more personalized attention from teachers. However, with the increasing student population, maintaining this level of individual focus is becoming challenging.
Sikar is becoming a significant player in the competitive exam coaching sector, drawing students who seek a more focused and supportive study environment.
In summary, Sikar is rapidly becoming a significant coaching hub in Rajasthan, offering a more controlled and supportive environment compared to Kota. However, as its popularity grows, it will need to address potential challenges related to student well-being and maintaining educational quality.

Best thing about Vivek Gupta Sir is his selfless counselling. As I am already a BSC/ MSC, he suggested me to go to Philippines as I was able to get straight admission into MD and this finishes my entire course in 4 years flat. In any other country, it would have taken by 5.5-6 years. Ms Kanimojhi in Chennai office of GKWorks was equally supportive in coordination regarding documents, departure and all other formalities.
We live 100 Km’s away from Varanasi. The internet connection in our town is very weak and my parents are not that educated. For us, understanding the word RTGS was also very difficult. Thanks to Amit Pandey Sir, who is Gkworks Varanasi incharge, he helped us to do all small things. Going with us to get forex to helping us doing RTGS for fee payment, he was always there with us. He only helped us to apply for passport online and went with us to passport office Varanasi. Such support at ground level was provided by GKworks team both in Varanasi and Delhi.
My parents were not very comfortable to send me abroad especially my mother as I am the only son of my parents. I really wanted to become a doctor and thus approached Hemant Mishra Sir, director of Bareilly branch of GKWorks. He went out of his way to convince my mother. He would have come 5 times to my home, invited us to his office and home 10 times before my mother was finally convinced. It is only due to Hemant Sir in Bareilly that I am pursuing my course today. I wish GKworks and especially Bareilly branch all the very best to help many more students for their life dreams.
