Internships of dentistry & MBBS aspirants
BENGALURU: Internships in dentistry & medicine have been significantly affected by the epidemic, with extended institution shutdown prompting a modification in the schedule.
Internships ought to have started in August & finished in July, according to the Dentistry Council of India’s schedule. Nonetheless, in the event of delay in administering tests, institutions have been compelled to create their own timetable. This has impacted pupils who are going to take the PG-NEET or other admission examination.
“The overall schedule of activities was thrown off. Dentistry pupils who started their internship in 2021 would finish in half -Feb “Manipal Institute of Advanced Education’s senior vice-chancellor, Dr Dilip G Naik, stated. “Internships are also present for aspirants of the 2017 cohort who’ve already taken their finals. We’ve made rigorous plans to prevent overlapping. Events take considerable time to sit back.”
Dr. US Krishna Nayak, head & director of the AB Shetty Foundation University of Dental Surgery in Derlakatte, said the university’s internship programme ended in Oct & the next pack began in Jan. “In comparison to other universities, we are just a few months out of date. Quick internship fulfilment has aided dentistry grads in their preparation for the PG-NEET exam, which is slated for Mar “he noted.
According to Dr Antony Sylvan D’Souza, director of Fathers Müller Medical Center, the outbreak has had a negative influence on the MBBS classes of 2021 & 2022. MBBS candidates often commence their studies in half-Aug. The most recent class, meanwhile, started in Feb 2021, and there is no news on when the present cohort will come on site.
“Since a duplicate program is published numerous times with a lag of many months, internship would become a tough task,” Dr. D’Souza remarked.
The majority of dentistry grads who are prepping for the PG-NEET are concerned. “Because we have still not completed our internship already, we might just have to wait until the next exam. It would be beneficial if PG-NEET was delayed for another few months “suggested one of the trainees.

Best thing about Vivek Gupta Sir is his selfless counselling. As I am already a BSC/ MSC, he suggested me to go to Philippines as I was able to get straight admission into MD and this finishes my entire course in 4 years flat. In any other country, it would have taken by 5.5-6 years. Ms Kanimojhi in Chennai office of GKWorks was equally supportive in coordination regarding documents, departure and all other formalities.
We live 100 Km’s away from Varanasi. The internet connection in our town is very weak and my parents are not that educated. For us, understanding the word RTGS was also very difficult. Thanks to Amit Pandey Sir, who is Gkworks Varanasi incharge, he helped us to do all small things. Going with us to get forex to helping us doing RTGS for fee payment, he was always there with us. He only helped us to apply for passport online and went with us to passport office Varanasi. Such support at ground level was provided by GKworks team both in Varanasi and Delhi.
My parents were not very comfortable to send me abroad especially my mother as I am the only son of my parents. I really wanted to become a doctor and thus approached Hemant Mishra Sir, director of Bareilly branch of GKWorks. He went out of his way to convince my mother. He would have come 5 times to my home, invited us to his office and home 10 times before my mother was finally convinced. It is only due to Hemant Sir in Bareilly that I am pursuing my course today. I wish GKworks and especially Bareilly branch all the very best to help many more students for their life dreams.
