In Tamil Nadu 455 MBBS seats are under the 7.5% preferential Quota
In dental colleges 114 seats are present. In this academic year, 569 seats are available of which 455 seats are for MBBS and 114 seats were for dental colleges under the 7.5% preferential quota. Total of 130 seats in 20 medical colleges that are self financing and 325 seats for the 37 medical colleges that are government based are available. In the previous year, a total of 554 seats were available. The state of Tamil Nadu will offers a total of 10,385 seats for MBBS as well as BDS during the beginning of procedure of counselling for the academic year 2022-23.
The officials of medical education notified that the prospectus will be ready within two or three days. The official mark sheets of NEET UG 2022 will be used to prepare the merit list. Due to the less time for counselling process, the Department of Medical Education may begin online counselling. Publishing of merit list will help the candidates to know where they stand at the national level. The authorities expected almost 40,000 aspirants in 2022.
Approximately, 3000 candidates had applied for the Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University. This university offers 580 total seats in B.V.Sc and A.H. programmes in total 7 colleges in Chennai, Namakkal, Tirunelve, Theni, Thalaivasal, Orathanadu and Udumalpet. There are around 40 seats in B-Tech Food Technology and Poultry Technology.
For the programme of B.V.Sc. the scores of biology, chemistry and physics are analysed for the cut off marks.
The candidates who are under the category of non- resident Indian will get a time around 1 month to submit the form whereas others will have 15 days time to issue the application.
