IMPORTANT: Stray Vacancy Round for BDS Counselling 2020 batch
As per the recently released notice of MCC dated 10th February 2021, another Stray Vacancy Round is scheduled to be conducted from 12th February to 18th February. For this round of BDS Counselling, the candidates will have to register on the MCC Portal (www.mcc.nic.in) to be able to participate and also pay the requisite counselling fees. Please note that the candidates who are already registered are not required to do so again.
The is in compliance with the ruling of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, which in the matter of “Harshit Agarwal & Ors. V/s Union of India & Ors.”, directed the following,
“We direct that the vacant seats in first year BDS course for the year 2020-2021 shall be filled up from the candidates who have participated in the NEET (UG) courses for the year 2020-2021 after lowering the percentile mark by 10 percentile. The admissions shall be made strictly in accordance with merit and the admission process shall be completed by 18.02.2021.”
On the basis of the Qualifying Criteria, the Marks Range and No. of Candidates qualifying in each category as provided by the NTA is as follows:
Once the list of registered candidates is forwarded to the colleges, they will conduct the counselling at their own end. The MCC will not play any role in the process of allotment. Any grievance or discrepancy that may arise during this Stray Vacancy Round will be the sole responsibility of the concerned college authorities.
In MCC’s notice, all participating institutes were also directed to treat Saturdays and Sundays as working days owing to the limited time available for conducting the counselling and to ensure time obedience of the schedule.
