IELTS writing tips and tricks?
Every year, an increasing number of international students travel abroad for higher education or permanent residency. And, to travel abroad, most non-native English speakers must take English language tests, one of which is IELTS, or the International English Language Testing System.
In this article, we’ll share information regarding IELTS and some tips on achieving a good band score.
What is IELTS?
IELTS is an English language testing exam used to assess native English speakers’ reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. It is all about assessing your ability to use the language in your daily life while studying, working, or settling in an English-speaking country abroad.
The reading section includes passages, and the speaking section includes a general interview in which the candidate talks about themselves or a general topic. The listening module requires candidates to listen to comprehensive passages and write down answers in sheets within a specific time limit. The writing module requires candidates to write an essay, a letter, or a comparison of a graph or pie chart.
IELTS is divided into two types.
IELTS is given in both online and offline formats. It is divided into two categories: academic and general. The academic category is for students pursuing graduate and postgraduate courses, while the general category is for people who have applied for permanent residency in a foreign country and need an exam score.
Marks are required.
Each university has a minimum score; if a candidate wishes to attend a specific university, he or she must obtain at least the required minimum score.
According to Biju M, founder, and instructor at Casper Academy Of Excellence, top universities have a minimum band requirement of 7 or more for admission. Most universities require a 6-6.5 overall band score. A band score based on their points under a comprehensive ranking system is required for the permanent residency applicant.

Best thing about Vivek Gupta Sir is his selfless counselling. As I am already a BSC/ MSC, he suggested me to go to Philippines as I was able to get straight admission into MD and this finishes my entire course in 4 years flat. In any other country, it would have taken by 5.5-6 years. Ms Kanimojhi in Chennai office of GKWorks was equally supportive in coordination regarding documents, departure and all other formalities.
We live 100 Km’s away from Varanasi. The internet connection in our town is very weak and my parents are not that educated. For us, understanding the word RTGS was also very difficult. Thanks to Amit Pandey Sir, who is Gkworks Varanasi incharge, he helped us to do all small things. Going with us to get forex to helping us doing RTGS for fee payment, he was always there with us. He only helped us to apply for passport online and went with us to passport office Varanasi. Such support at ground level was provided by GKworks team both in Varanasi and Delhi.
My parents were not very comfortable to send me abroad especially my mother as I am the only son of my parents. I really wanted to become a doctor and thus approached Hemant Mishra Sir, director of Bareilly branch of GKWorks. He went out of his way to convince my mother. He would have come 5 times to my home, invited us to his office and home 10 times before my mother was finally convinced. It is only due to Hemant Sir in Bareilly that I am pursuing my course today. I wish GKworks and especially Bareilly branch all the very best to help many more students for their life dreams.
