Medical Council of India (MCI) screening test, also commonly known as Foreign Medical Graduates Examination (FMGE) exam, is a national level licensing examination conducted twice a year (June and December) by the National Board of Examinations (NBE). An Indian citizen or OCI who has completed their primary medical qualification from an institution outside India, but wishes to practice in India needs to clear this examination to register with the Medical Council of India (MCI)/State Medical Council (SMC).
The FMGE Screening Test was first introduced by the Screening Test Regulations in the year 2002.The students who want to appeared for MCI Screening Test/FMGE Exam they can get the application form & downloaded from the official website of NBE https://nbe.edu.in/ . Through this exam candidates can get permanent and provisional registration with the medical council of India.

Exemptions |
The student looking for provisional or permanent registration and holding undergraduate medical qualification from – New Zealand, United Kingdom, Australia, USA, Australia is recognised for enrolment as a medical practitioner in that country, then the candidate need not to qualify the FMGE exam. |
➢ Mode of examination: Exam will be conducted online (Computer base).
➢ The FMGE exam is divided into 2 parts – first in the morning session and second in the evening session.
➢ Number of Questions: Total 300 questions will be asked in the examination. Both parts consist of 150 multiple choice questions.
➢ Time Duration: The duration of each part of the exam is 2 hours and 30 minutes
➢ There is a short break between the two parts of the examination.
➢ There will be multiple-choice questions (MCQs) asked in the exam with only one correct response.
➢ The weightage of multiple choice questions in each section will vary, National Board of Examinations (NBE) has the authority to alter the marks of the questions.
➢ No negative marking.
★ Application fee will be paid through online mode using debit card, Credit card or net banking.
★ The total fee for taking the FMGE exam is Rs. 5,500/- which is non-refundable.
★ Application fee will not be refundable.

Biochemistry: Liquids, carbohydrates, isotopes and their applications, vitamins, liver function, intermediary metabolism, biological oxidation, protein and amino acid metabolism, purine and pyrimidine metabolism
Microbiology: Immunology, mycology, parasitology, general microbiology, bacteriology, general virology
Pathology: Cell injury, immunopathology, growth disturbance and neoplasia, genetic disorder, hematology, respiratory of kidney, disease of the breast, dermatopathology, ocular pathology
Pharmacology: Autonomic nervous system, cardiovascular system, general pharmacology, cardiovascular system, diuretics, chemotherapy, toxicology, gastrointestinal system
