The IELTS is a challenging test that combines a person’s ability to speak and write in English. The test is required to attain citizenship or a visa for Canada. Here are some common questions answered about IELTS.
How to apply for the IELTS?
The first one must find the test location to write the test. After finding your preferred testing location, you must apply online and register for the same. Make the desired payment through the digital medium. You can find these online application forms on the IELTS website. The document required to access this page is your passport.
Other ways that may benefit some are, printing and mailing the application and doing everything offline. Documentation and payment can take place physically as well. The documents required in this process are a photocopy of their passport and payment proof.
What is the fee for taking this test?
The proposed amount may be between $245 and USD 255. However, for some candidates, transportation charges may also occur, which will add up to the total cost.
What if one doesn’t attend the test on their scheduled date?
The authorities of IELTS give you a feature where you can transfer or cancel your test, with an administration fee of USD 85. If it is a serious emergency, then one can provide proof and get themselves seated for the next test.
In the case of refund, the process will be time-consuming but the administrative fee of $85 is mandatory.
How does the process of the IELTS go about?
The registration process begins at 8:15 a.m. The exam begins at 9:30 a.m., so candidates can arrive early to avoid any unnecessary anxiety. The candidate must carry the exact photo identification used for the application, a hard copy of the confirmation email along the necessary stationery.
The process requires you to take a finger scan, which will be matched on your every entrance. It is taken to prevent proxy test-taking. Personal belongings are also not allowed inside the test room.
Speaking interviews will take place during the afternoon slot, between 1:20 p.m. and 5:20 p.m. on the same day of your writing test.
