CBSE’s formula for evaluating Class XII result 2021
We all know that CBSE have decided to promote class XII students without examination and has come up with a formula 40:30:30 that they have submitted to the Supreme Court for evaluation of the marks of class 12th, which will be based on their class 12th, class 11th and class 10th result.
The formula will work like, the theoretical marks of all the subjects will be inputted using 40% from the marks student got in the past i.e., their pre-board or mid-term exam marks, 30% from their class 11th final exams and another 30% from there class 10th result. All of these marks will be added to their class 12th internal exam and practical marks.
How will the 30:30:40 % for the theory part will be computed?
For class 12th, student’s performance in each subject will be taken in note in either one or more mid-term exam, unit test or pre-board exams. This process will undergo by the ‘Result Committees’ which has been constituted in each school which includes the school principal, two senior-most teachers of the school and two teachers of the nearby school of class 12th.
To clarify if the result committee consider the view that only pre-board exams result will be taken into consideration, them the overall weightage could be given to that view. And even if any other school want to taken both pre-board and mid-term exam into consideration they can do as they prefer.
Now for class 11th the marks will be computed on the basis of the marks gained by the student in their final rear-end theory exam that the students wrote in 2019-2020.
For class 10th students, the average marks gained by the students in their three main subjects of which the student who performed best in their class 10th board exam will be computed. This average score will be given to all the class 12th subjects based on the theory weightage of each subject
The Final Tabulation.
In class 12th we have different theistical or internal assessments, practical exam for the subjects. Some carries 80 marks for theory 20 for practical’s, some have 70 for theory and 30 for p00racticals. theses internal assessment are already conducted in the most schools and those who are left are asked to take these exams via online medium.
This is how the tabulation will look like:
Theory Marks |
Practical/ IA Marks |
Total Marks |
|||||
Class X 30% | Class XI 30% | Class XII 40% | Class XII | Class X | Class XI | Class XII | |
80 | 24 | 24 | 32 | 20 | 24 | 24 | 52 |
70 | 21 | 21 | 28 | 30 | 21 | 21 | 58 |
60 | 18 | 18 | 24 | 40 | 18 | 18 | 64 |
50 | 15 | 15 | 20 | 50 | 15 | 15 | 70 |
30 | 09 | 09 | 12 | 70 | 09 | 09 | 82 |
Standardization process that will be conducted?
Every school will internally moderate the marks to account for the school level variations this will mark the students in internally conducted exam of class 11th and 12th. For every subject the school will follow a broad distribution of marks which will be based on the performance of the specific year by the school in the subject.
The subject wise marks evaluated by the school for 2020-2021 ought to be inside a scope of +/ – 5 marks acquired by the students in the school in the subject in the reference year. Be that as it may, the general average marks for the school surveyed in 2020-2021, for every one of the subjects, should not surpass the overall average marks got by the school by 2 marks in the particular reference year,” expresses the Tabulation strategy on the detail of the moderation process.
What will happen to the students who will not get passed even after the tabulation?
If any Student will fall short in any one subject, then they will be placed under the “Compartment” category, and a compartment examination will be conducted after the announcement of the result to give them a chance to clear that subject. Theses students will fall under the ‘essential repeat’ category.
What about the students who are not satisfied with their result?
Students who are not satisfied by the result, will be given an option to give offline exam when the conditions are normal.

Best thing about Vivek Gupta Sir is his selfless counselling. As I am already a BSC/ MSC, he suggested me to go to Philippines as I was able to get straight admission into MD and this finishes my entire course in 4 years flat. In any other country, it would have taken by 5.5-6 years. Ms Kanimojhi in Chennai office of GKWorks was equally supportive in coordination regarding documents, departure and all other formalities.
We live 100 Km’s away from Varanasi. The internet connection in our town is very weak and my parents are not that educated. For us, understanding the word RTGS was also very difficult. Thanks to Amit Pandey Sir, who is Gkworks Varanasi incharge, he helped us to do all small things. Going with us to get forex to helping us doing RTGS for fee payment, he was always there with us. He only helped us to apply for passport online and went with us to passport office Varanasi. Such support at ground level was provided by GKworks team both in Varanasi and Delhi.
My parents were not very comfortable to send me abroad especially my mother as I am the only son of my parents. I really wanted to become a doctor and thus approached Hemant Mishra Sir, director of Bareilly branch of GKWorks. He went out of his way to convince my mother. He would have come 5 times to my home, invited us to his office and home 10 times before my mother was finally convinced. It is only due to Hemant Sir in Bareilly that I am pursuing my course today. I wish GKworks and especially Bareilly branch all the very best to help many more students for their life dreams.
