Admission to top medical colleges in Tamil Nadu?
NEET-UG 2023 exam was conducted on 7 May and now the answer key for the same is supposed to be released soon by the end of the month. Aspirants who qualifies the exam will be considered appropriate for NEET counselling.
Tamil Nadu has a different counselling system for NEET-UG aspirants. The Directorate of Medical Education(DME) conducts the counselling process in Tamil Nadu based on NEET-UG scores. Tamil Nadu counselling will be done for the admission to 85 per cent state quota seats and 100 per cent seats in private colleges.
The counselling procedure for the same is as follows:
The counselling will be conducted online at tnhealth.tn.gov.in.
Students will be asked to submit their preferences of colleges and courses during the counselling process.
Seats will be granted to the eligible candidate on the basis of their choices filled, state merit rank, NEET score, reservation and other factors.
The Tamil Nadu seat allotment list will be published after each round of counselling.
For the completion of the admission process, students who were allotted seats will be required to report to the allotted institute.

NEET cut-off:
The NEET-UG 2023 cut-off percentile for the general category to qualify for the entrance exam is 50%. Last year the cut-off for the general category was 714-116. Tamil Nadu counselling rank list consists of the following: NEET UG roll number, candidate’s name, NEET rank and marks. The eligible candidates are handed with provisional allotment orders through the online portal.
