 Research Paper Compulsory  for PhD scholars?

The UGC has now made it compulsory to publish research paper as thesis for PhD submissions. It has allowed the higher education institution to make their own rules for the thesis publishing and submission. The decision was taken by the UGC  against the unfair means practiced by few to publish their article in journals where they made money by charging fee which is not supposed to be done.

Currently UGC is planning to making changes in the  Regulations, 2016, according to which the scholar of PhD had to publish at least one research paper in the journal before the submission of the thesis.

As per the new rule the word ‘strongly recommended ‘ will be taken back and now the quality assessment of PhD degree will be done by the Universities itself and they are free to impose any rule regarding this on the PhD scholar.

The UGC believes that PhD scholar must publish their research paper in peer reviewed journals and get their work quality validated.

We live 100 Km’s away from Varanasi. The internet connection in our town is very weak and my parents are not that educated. For us, understanding the word RTGS was also very difficult.
