The second-largest country in Europe, Ukraine is a country on eastern Europe at the northwest end of the Black Sea. It has a multitude of top government medical universities offering MBBS, MD and other degrees in medicine to the local students as well as international students, all of which are accredited by the world’s major renowned organizations like WHO and UNESCO.
Getting an admission for MBBS is one far fetched dream for all medical aspirants. Seeking admissions for MBBS abroad has not only been the latest trend, but also been a reliable alternative. Getting an admission in Ukraine is very easy, the students needn’t take TOEFL or IELTS.
With a duration of 5.8 years, Ukraine offers world class education standards at affordable prices.
There are a few prerequisites however, for securing a seat for MBBS in Ukraine. These are as below mentioned.
The aspiring student must be of 17 years of age on or before 31st December of the year of admission. Also, the students can’t be above the age of 25.
The Medical Council of India (MCI), in March 2018 made it clear that qualifying NEET was mandatory for getting admission in MBBS or any equivalent medical course in a medical university/college/institute outside of the country on or after 1st June 2018 for Indian nationals or overseas citizens of India. As a result, the candidates seeking an admission in foreign countries like Ukraine may have a valid NEET scorecard.
The MCI has also seen to it that the medical universities in countries like China, Russia, Ukraine, the Philippines, Kyrgyzstan, etc. do not accept Indian students without NEET by sending out notifications to the respective Indian Embassies.
However, those students who did not qualify / register / appear in NEET are required to produce an Eligibility Certificate issued by Medical Council of India at the time of admission to Foreign Medical Universities, according to the latest notification issued by MCI in accordance with the decision taken by Delhi High Court.
Because of this very reason, the minimum qualifying age for admissions to universities in Ukraine is same as that of NEET.
The students must qualify the Higher Secondary Examination with a minimum of 50% for general category and at least 40% for SC/ST/OBC, and must have had Physics, Chemistry, Biology and compulsory English upto higher secondary, from a recognized board/university, i.e. CBSE, ICSE or any other equivalent boards of examination.

Best thing about Vivek Gupta Sir is his selfless counselling. As I am already a BSC/ MSC, he suggested me to go to Philippines as I was able to get straight admission into MD and this finishes my entire course in 4 years flat. In any other country, it would have taken by 5.5-6 years. Ms Kanimojhi in Chennai office of GKWorks was equally supportive in coordination regarding documents, departure and all other formalities.
We live 100 Km’s away from Varanasi. The internet connection in our town is very weak and my parents are not that educated. For us, understanding the word RTGS was also very difficult. Thanks to Amit Pandey Sir, who is Gkworks Varanasi incharge, he helped us to do all small things. Going with us to get forex to helping us doing RTGS for fee payment, he was always there with us. He only helped us to apply for passport online and went with us to passport office Varanasi. Such support at ground level was provided by GKworks team both in Varanasi and Delhi.
My parents were not very comfortable to send me abroad especially my mother as I am the only son of my parents. I really wanted to become a doctor and thus approached Hemant Mishra Sir, director of Bareilly branch of GKWorks. He went out of his way to convince my mother. He would have come 5 times to my home, invited us to his office and home 10 times before my mother was finally convinced. It is only due to Hemant Sir in Bareilly that I am pursuing my course today. I wish GKworks and especially Bareilly branch all the very best to help many more students for their life dreams.
