Calgary is Alberta’s most populous province, and it is here that many international students come to study. People from all over the world live in the city, including Filipino, Indian, and Chinese communities. When compared to the major cities of Canada, the weather here is typically dry and sunny. The people here are friendly and welcoming, with a palpable sense of community. There are many restaurants in Calgary, and you’re sure to find some that will transport you back to your hometown.
International students in Calgary will have an active social life. The average age in Calgary is 38 years old, which means that young people will have little difficulty finding like-minded people with whom they can experience life in the city. Calgary is well-known for its Calgary Stampede, rocky mountains, and other attractions.
Because of a policy change implemented in November 2022, Canadian international students will be able to work full-time to support themselves financially.
This temporary policy will be in effect until December 2023, during which time students will be able to work approximately 20 hours per week and full-time during holiday breaks.
Calgary’s post-secondary education system includes 60 designated learning institutions (DLI); acceptance letters from any of these institutions will assist students in obtaining their Canadian study permit.
Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) is one of the DLIs. It is unique in that it offers programs that qualify international students for a post-graduation work permit (PGWP), which is critical in assisting them in obtaining permanent residence.
Digital Technology, Business, Construction, Health and Public Safety, Hospitality and Tourism, Manufacturing and Automation, and Transportation are among the programs available at SAIT.
Students who graduate from any DLI institute can look forward to a career in the thriving city.
SAIT is one of the DLIs that offers a PGWP program to international students. This permit allows students to work and gain work experience for up to three years. SAIT plays a significant role in assisting its students’ desire to immigrate to Canada.
The ceremony was the first of its kind for 35 alumni students who were granted permanent residence in Canada.
To mark the occasion, students were joined by school faculty and provincial dignitaries, including Calgary Mayor Joyti Gondek and Alberta’s Minister of Advanced Education, Demetrios Nicolaides.
This is why, after three years, Alberta has the highest number of international students of any province or territory. Because of the city’s low cost of living and competitive wages, Alberta and Calgary attract a large number of international students.
Calgary is quickly becoming a technology and innovation hub in Canada. Calgary Economic Development President and CEO Bradd Parry believes the city has a bright future.
Calgary is the most popular and viable for international students looking for a prosperous future in the country.

Best thing about Vivek Gupta Sir is his selfless counselling. As I am already a BSC/ MSC, he suggested me to go to Philippines as I was able to get straight admission into MD and this finishes my entire course in 4 years flat. In any other country, it would have taken by 5.5-6 years. Ms Kanimojhi in Chennai office of GKWorks was equally supportive in coordination regarding documents, departure and all other formalities.
We live 100 Km’s away from Varanasi. The internet connection in our town is very weak and my parents are not that educated. For us, understanding the word RTGS was also very difficult. Thanks to Amit Pandey Sir, who is Gkworks Varanasi incharge, he helped us to do all small things. Going with us to get forex to helping us doing RTGS for fee payment, he was always there with us. He only helped us to apply for passport online and went with us to passport office Varanasi. Such support at ground level was provided by GKworks team both in Varanasi and Delhi.
My parents were not very comfortable to send me abroad especially my mother as I am the only son of my parents. I really wanted to become a doctor and thus approached Hemant Mishra Sir, director of Bareilly branch of GKWorks. He went out of his way to convince my mother. He would have come 5 times to my home, invited us to his office and home 10 times before my mother was finally convinced. It is only due to Hemant Sir in Bareilly that I am pursuing my course today. I wish GKworks and especially Bareilly branch all the very best to help many more students for their life dreams.
