1 YEAR COMPULSORY SERVICE TO BE MANDATORY FOR MBBS, PG MEDICOS IN HARYANA
As per the directions of the Health Ministry in Haryana all the students who are admitted in government medical colleges at undergraduate and postgraduate level will have to sign bonds with the government for providing health services in the state for one year.
The implementation of the plan has already been started as stated by the Health Minister Anil Vij. As of now the plan is applicable to the government medical colleges but after some time it will be applicable to private colleges also according to the directions of the Health Ministry.
Anil Vij in his statement said that he would be presenting the bill in the upcoming monsoon session of the Vidhan Sabha which will start from 2nd August 2019. The purpose is to make it compulsory for the students of medical colleges to provide one -year service. With the passing of the bill in the Vidhan Sabha the students who have passed out will be joining government hospitals in the state every year. This will help in filling the 450 vacant posts of the doctors and help in boosting the Health services in the state.
The government run colleges in the state includes Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences, PGIMS Rohtak, Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College Karnal, Maharaja Agrasen Medical College Agroha, Bhagat Phool Singh Medical College at Khanpur Kalan, Sonipat and Shaheed Hassan Khan Mewati Government Medical College Nalhar, Mewat. These colleges have more than 850 MBBS seats. However, 250 MBBS seats were increased in the medical colleges of the state after the implementation of reservation for the Economically Weaker Sections.
Employing the passed- out students in the hospitals will help to reduce the shortage of the surgeons in PGIMS. It has already been noted that Haryana have lack of doctors. In the one-year medical service, the post of medical officer specialist will be given to the PG Medicos. This will in filling the posts of the specialist doctors in the state.
The government as well the Health Department is very serious regarding the implementation of the rule in the state. With this rule, it would be compulsory for the students of MBBS and MD degree to work in the state for 1-2 years. The shortage of the house surgeons in PGIMS can be reduced. The main aim of the Health Department and Government is to provide better medical services to the public.
Many incentives are also been provided to the students of PG medical course including MD, MS, MDS for the academic session 2019-2020.

Best thing about Vivek Gupta Sir is his selfless counselling. As I am already a BSC/ MSC, he suggested me to go to Philippines as I was able to get straight admission into MD and this finishes my entire course in 4 years flat. In any other country, it would have taken by 5.5-6 years. Ms Kanimojhi in Chennai office of GKWorks was equally supportive in coordination regarding documents, departure and all other formalities.
We live 100 Km’s away from Varanasi. The internet connection in our town is very weak and my parents are not that educated. For us, understanding the word RTGS was also very difficult. Thanks to Amit Pandey Sir, who is Gkworks Varanasi incharge, he helped us to do all small things. Going with us to get forex to helping us doing RTGS for fee payment, he was always there with us. He only helped us to apply for passport online and went with us to passport office Varanasi. Such support at ground level was provided by GKworks team both in Varanasi and Delhi.
My parents were not very comfortable to send me abroad especially my mother as I am the only son of my parents. I really wanted to become a doctor and thus approached Hemant Mishra Sir, director of Bareilly branch of GKWorks. He went out of his way to convince my mother. He would have come 5 times to my home, invited us to his office and home 10 times before my mother was finally convinced. It is only due to Hemant Sir in Bareilly that I am pursuing my course today. I wish GKworks and especially Bareilly branch all the very best to help many more students for their life dreams.
